New and old faces

A Long Lost Time will be released later this year, and in this week’s blog I’m giving you an introduction to the new characters you’ll shortly be getting to know. However, there’s quite a lot of old faces that pop up too so make sure you read back over my past character blogs.

Atlantic Split Characters

At Liberty To Live Characters

An Undercover Dream Characters

In A Long Lost Time there are a few I can’t tell you about just yet! You’ll have to wait until the book is released. However, what I can tell you about is family because that plays a massive role in this book. (spoilers below.)

FRANK BRIGHT:

Frank Bright is Luke’s stoic, unemotional and stern father. Or at least that’s how he used to be back when Luke was still in the UK. The time apart has led Frank to reevaluate his life and how he treated Luke, but will Luke be able to forgive him for how he treated him last time they were together and make up for their poor relationship that lasted twenty years? Frank was the one who pushed Luke into following his footsteps and never believed in his dream to be an actor, so there’s a lot for Luke to share when they reunite. You’ll find out soon how they get on.

ANNE BRIGHT:

Anne is Luke’s mum who is as wise as she is sweet, but also has a fiercely protective side of her and will do anything for her son, even if it means babying him. It’s something Luke’s never really raised with her, as he’s always been closer to her than his father, but since he’s been on the run and lived away from his parents’ influence, he’s grown up and changed a lot. Whilst his mum is extremely happy to see him back, there are certainly challenges to face – in the form of his extended family who aren’t quite so understanding.

MIKE SMITH:

Mike Smith is one half of the inventor of GERMIK – the super plastic that has revolutionised the world Luke lives in and is also Vi’s father. He’s a talented, clever and inventive man who only wants the best for his family and his children. He’s a firm believer in peace, having been to the USA himself, and is completely against the Atlantic Split which means he’s a huge supporter of Luke. Luke finds himself feeling very lucky to have found someone as great as Mike who will let him into his home despite everything he’s done.

DAWN SMITH:

Dawn, like her husband is a firm supporter of Luke and wants to look after him as best as possible, but wants to protect Vi at the same time. However, she trusts her daughter to make sensible choices and is fully supportive of their relationship. Luke can also see a lot of similarities between Dawn and Vi – their kind nature and generosity. He just hopes he can carry on making a good impression in front of her parents.

DARREN SMITH:

Luke’s never met someone as cool as Darren, not even Steve whom he must say is pretty cool. Darren is Vi’s older brother and has a chilled out attitude and a great business mind. He’s in a long distance relationship with his boyfriend whom he misses greatly and lives up in London away from the rest of his family who he still sees regularly. Luke and Darren become good friends – especially since he’s lacking friends in the UK – and Darren proves extremely helpful many a time when Luke needs support.

I hope you enjoy reading A Long Lost Time when it’s released and find these characters interesting, relatable and also realistic. That’s how I’ve aimed to write them and without them, the book series wouldn’t be what it is today!
