An Undercover Dream ended with a lot of big reveals that lead the way into the fourth and final book of The Luke Bright Series. This month, I’m going to be discussing these four big moments and how they affect that final book.

Reveal 3: Luke’s going home!
It’s what it’s all been leading up to. After twenty months on the run, Luke Bright is finally getting his chance to go home. It’s one of the biggest reveals in the whole of the series, and it’s fitting to (almost) end the book on it. With Vi being deported back to the UK, it makes sense for Luke to go back with her and remain in hiding at her family home.
Being able to see his family again is something Luke has dreamt of for months. But the image in his mind of what it’s going to be like, isn’t true to reality, and that’s something Luke isn’t prepared for. He’s always anticipated being able to go home a free man, but now, he’s going back with unfinished business as a fugitive.
Bringing Luke back to the UK was always where this series was heading – and it’s exciting to see exactly how much things have (and haven’t) changed back there. The fourth book almost lies in parallel to Atlantic Split and the characters and situations are very similar. It’s an interesting way of bringing things full cycle and I think you’ll see that quite quickly.
However, going back to the UK is one thing. Leaving the USA – Luke’s home for the last twenty months – is another. Leaving behind the friends he’s made and lives he’s lived, knowing that there’s a very good chance he’ll never see them again. It leads to a very emotional beginning of book 4, and as I’ve said before, you’d best prepare yourself for that rollercoaster. Even after writing it, I’m not prepared to see it published!
But bringing Luke back to where this all began is extremely fitting and pivotal. And after the tough time he had at the end of An Undercover Dream, he really deserves a break. However, as you’ll find out in next week’s reveal, there’s more going on than meets the eye, and plenty more to be discovered in the final book of The Luke Bright Series!
