Meet The New Characters

With At Liberty To Live just days away from release, I thought this week’s blog was a great opportunity to introduce some new faces. Luke’s new adventure in this book means a lot of new settings but also meeting lots of new people. If you want to get familiar with the characters from Atlantic Split then read my previous character blog here.

In At Liberty To Live there are six major new characters and below is some more information about them (spoilers below.)

SUSIE CUNNINGHAM:

We first met Susie right at the end of Atlantic Split and we’ve heard a lot about her already. She’s James’s wife and childhood sweetheart, and he’s desperate to get back home to her and their son Timmy. Susie’s a kind, caring and successful lady who cares an awful lot about her family. Plus, her job comes in very useful as Luke embarks upon his undercover life in New York.

LINDA GREEN:

Linda co-runs a diner in Brooklyn and it’s not long before Luke gets entangled in the dramas of the business. She appears a strong, confident woman but anyone can change when they’ve been hurt. Luke takes it upon himself to help her out, but it’s clear to see that there’s a lot of emotions running high during their encounters. But will their clashes prove to be a good or bad thing when they get closer?

JACK SHORE:

The other owner of the diner, Jack, is someone who loves to be alpha male, and no one’s ever stood in his way before. Luke however knows better than to let people push him around anymore and soon discovers his new boss has a secret. When this all comes out in the open, Luke’s relieved but doesn’t realise that Jack Shore isn’t the kind of guy who goes down without a fight.

TOM SHORE:

The younger brother of Jack and another worker at the diner, Tom is a young father trying to do the best for his family, and Luke makes an instant friend in him. Tom’s always been second best to his big brother. Relying on Jack heavily for a lot, Tom gets caught up in the middle of the drama at the diner, and is forced to choose where his loyalties lie.

MARIA SHORE:

Maria is Tom’s wife and mother to their young son Ollie. Also employed at the diner, she’s a strong Mexican woman who clearly wears the trousers. She doesn’t stand for anyone hurting her husband and friends and will protect them if she has to. With a great sense of humour and a sweet personality, she too becomes a good friend of Luke’s.

BECKY TYLER:

Luke’s never met a woman like Becky – Steve and James’s secretary at E.S.T.O.S.. She’s a smart and free-spirited woman who’s known to choose a fun fling over any sort of relationship. It’s clear that Luke caught her eye when they first met, but when their paths cross again in an unexpected turn of events, will Luke be willing to try her way of life?

I hope you enjoy reading At Liberty To Live and find these characters interesting, relatable and also realistic. That’s how I’ve aimed to write them and without them, the book series wouldn’t be what it is today!
