Everything has changed…

It’s less than two weeks until The Snowflake War is released! I can’t believe it. I’m so excited for you all to read it. But before you do, you might want a recap on how the last book ended and what my millennial group are currently dealing with.

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

The book begins the morning after the previous book, with whole group still affected by what happened to Shawn in the final trap in Gransbrook. You can read the first chapter of The Snowflake War for free here to get a sneak peek (Password: Sunnyville) – but check TWs first.

Shawn went into the trap, got everyone else out, but then got affected himself. It wasn’t a death trap like the others: the trap caused him to experience irreversible, intense pain every time he tried to speak, crushing his dreams of becoming a singer. He’s now having to get used to remaining silent or typing on a phone to communicate which is both frustrating and limiting for him and he’s feeling even more anxious and depressed than before. Everyone is really (and rightfully) worried about him.

The group also found out that the MTM’s final trap will be happening in Wacherton, so they’re planning on heading there soon. But Shawn told them that he doesn’t want to go along, which Max and the others understand, but Leah thinks he’d be better off with them than going back to his parents. She’s insisting she’ll stay with him in Leasford, even though Shawn doesn’t want her to, and it’s causing more friction between the trio.

However, the presence of the secondary characters, Zara, Kasia and Odd Sock seems to be easing the tensions. Their interactions with the different members of the trio have helped help them learn a lot about themselves already, and there’s even more of that to come in this book. The dynamic of the group has shifted substantially from when the series started.

The stakes are extremely high and now this has all become much more personal, the pressure has really gone up a notch. Time is running out and you’ll notice a change in pacing, considering this is going to be the most intense day of their lives so far. Everything really has changed and even more will change over the course of this final book in the series. And where will it all end up? That’s for you to find out in a couple of weeks time.

Until next time!
