A new dawn…

You did it America, you got Trump out of the White House and Biden in! It was a fantastic day, and a brand new era for your country. Where we move forward, not backwards, and start to believe in democracy again.

The last few weeks have been intense for the country, with the riots and coronavirus deaths, but in the midst of all that, there’s been this beacon of hope that things are going to change for the better, and now they have.

If anyone hasn’t read it, make sure you give Amanda Gorman’s poem The Hill We Climb a read – it was fantastic, beautiful and powerful and summed up exactly what the new America should be. And it got me thinking about how happy Luke would be at this new turn of events if he lived in our world. Sure, his world has different politicians, but he’d certainly back Biden if he was here with us.

Since MLK Day and Inauguration Day were such powerful days, I wanted to share something with you that might just be relevant. A speech that Luke waited years to do, one that, sure, isn’t perfect, but one that came from the heart, and shares the essence of what we want the world to stand for today. Equality, peace, unity. So, take a look at it below:

I’m excited for you, America and I’m thankful and relieved. Maybe now the world can start making sense again and move forward. It’s a new dawn for sure. One I can’t wait to see you be a part of.
