Hi readers and followers – we’ve made it! To the end of 2020, one of the strangest years in our lives. We’ve learnt and lost along the way and life has changed forever. And still, we’re not out of the woods as we approach 2021. We have no idea what next year will look like, but let’s hope that it’ll bring an end to COVID-19.
The year has indeed brought people together in their houses, split people apart with their beliefs and made everyone reevaluate what life once was. We’ve had to adapt to new things, we’ve learnt to take new chances and experienced hobbies and created in ways we never knew we had time to. It’s been tough, it’s been really tough for people and I really hope for these final few hours of the year, we can just all come together, put our differences aside and really remember what’s important. Each other. People being together and moving forward with hope. It may seem like we have a long way to go, but if we all work together we can maybe see the end sooner.
For me, 2020 was in fact a much more productive writing year than I expected – something I am actually quite grateful for. I published A Long Lost Time and set to work on several of my WIPs. I managed to write two more first drafts of novels in my new series and sadly put The Luke Bright Series to bed. You’ll probably also notice that I haven’t been posting as much as usual on social media, so I’ll tell you why and unfortunately some sad but necessary news.
I’ve been writing this weekly blog for three years straight now, and it’s been fantastic. It’s made the weeks shoot by and I can’t believe it’s been that long since I set out upon this adventure to self publish. However, so I can focus more on the writing side (and find more things to blog about!) I’ve decided I’m going to end my blogging streak here. Of course there will still be blogs, but just not weekly anymore. So this is my opportunity to say thank you to everyone who has supported me and this blog, I will be back soon with more content I promise. Same goes for social media, things will probably quieten down there a bit too, so just keep an eye out when I do post as there’ll be good reason for it!
I suppose it also comes with the end of The Luke Bright Series which too ended this year in Luke’s alternate reality. It’s fitting really that it’s all coming to a close around the same time, but there’s so much more going on in the background in terms of my writing. I’m currently working on my newest book ‘The Signs Are Coming’ and on another series ‘The Snowflake Series’ which made up most of my NaNoWriMo efforts these past few years. It’s going to be busy which is why promotion will unfortunately take a bit of a back seat in 2021.
I just want to end this blog saying a massive thank you to everyone who has supported me in my self publishing career, whether it be buying books, sharing my content or spreading the word. It’s been a huge pleasure to share the series that I grew up writing with you, and I can’t wait to share more with you in 2021.
I hope everyone stays safe and well in the New Year and that things will look Brighter in the future.
Take care everyone!
N.A.K.
