A long time coming…

Whenever I write one of these blogs in the week before release, it makes me realise that I’ve never really been prepared to let a book go. But now, to let this whole series go? It feels so strange.

I’ve mentioned many times before how I always put off finishing A Long Lost Time when I was first writing it, because I was just too scared to end it. I wanted to make it last as long as possible, because if I wasn’t writing about Luke, would I ever write again? Now at least I know there’s other projects I can work on and this isn’t going to be the only thing I write, but still…

Monday is going to be an odd day, not only because there’ll be no more writing in this series, but because that’s my life’s work – completed. For so long I’ve dreamed of my lucky break to publish this series, only to discover I could make my dreams happen myself, and without that constant need to strive and work towards it, the accomplishment that it really happened, it doesn’t necessarily feel like it’ll be real – and that’s an emotion that definitely seeps into this book in particular.

But back to A Long Lost Time, the most significant book in the series, and also my favourite. It’s an emotional ending to what’s been a series of ups and downs and throws back to Atlantic Split in many ways. It makes all the other books in the series stronger and it contains even more twists than any of the other books. Let’s just say, there’s plenty you won’t see coming, and when they happen, you won’t be able to look back at the series in the same way again.

I’m sad to let it go, but so excited for you all to see how Luke’s journey ends. Even though I know how hard it’ll be to let go of it, it’ll be even harder to have kept it to myself for all this time. Bring on release day! See you back here then!
