As The Luke Bright Series concludes this year, I’ve been reflecting back on the previous books in the series. What I’ve learnt along the way, what went on, and how it sets up for the epic finale that concludes Luke’s adventures. This week, however is the final part of that blog series as I move onto A Long Lost Time and how that takes everything we know so far and rolls with it in a book of colossal proportions.
A Long Lost Time picks up where An Undercover Dream left off, and, if you haven’t heard already, Luke’s finally getting his chance to go home to the UK. Going from that naive, temperamental sheltered teenager into a man who has loved, lost and grown independently for 20 months means things will he very different upon his return.
Without too many spoilers, I must say that this book is a journey. It’s a journey back through time almost and when I wrote it, I always knew I had to make sure everyone from before got a mention. No one gets forgotten because when you conclude a series like this, with so many people who have been a part of it along the way, you need to give everyone their moment. Some are more significant than others, but I promise you they’re well worth waiting for. There’s a few in there I’m sure you’ll be cheering at and they don’t necessarily involve Luke.
So, what’s next then? Well, on Saturday I’m revealing the prologue of A Long Lost Time so you can delve back into the series – and in fact it’s a good place to start as an overview for the previous few books. Then it’ll be onto publishing later this year. As Luke’s also living through an alternate (non-COVID) 2020, it’s fitting that both this story and the story of my journey to self publish this series coincide.
It’s going to be emotional but I’m ready to wrap up this series and share it with the world. Mainly because I can’t keep this plot under wraps any longer! In the weeks leading up to publishing, I’ll give you some more juicy bits of information about the book and then end the year on a bang! Who knows how next year will look? Hopefully with a lot more words on pages, even if they aren’t about Luke.
That concludes these four blogs but don’t forget to check back for the FIRST OFFICIAL LOOK AT A LONG LOST TIME on SATURDAY 1st AUGUST! Make sure you’re ready with your password because it’ll only be up for a month. Then, you’ll just have to wait until the official release day! See you then!
