Yes, it’s the middle of summer, but I’ve got snowflakes on my mind. I’m fortunate that I’ll be able to get some solid writing time in next week because I’ve been planning to write the two sequels to The Snowflake Trap which I began in NaNoWriMo last year. Since then, it’s come on leaps and bounds, but I know these two sequels are going to help it along even further.
I’ve mentioned before that it was the rise of ‘ok boomer’ and the unrest between boomers and millennials that spurred me on to write that book because it was so relevant at the time. Now, as the official timeline (as it stands) has passed for those books, something else has happened to inspire those sequels.
There’s been a lot of unrest between Gen-Z and millennials too (which really sucks for us millennials), and this generational divide has caused a lot of drama on the internet. Whether that rift will ever become as big as that between the baby boomers and the millennials is uncertain, but it’s made me realise how sometimes, current events will just fall in your lap and write themselves.
I was planning on writing these two books over the next two NaNoWriMos, but I think I’m going to have to bring them forward, especially since these issues are so relevant. At least that’ll keep me busy when The Luke Bright Series ends. It’ll be interesting to get to know these characters a bit more as well, because they’ve only existed for a few months. Getting into their story arcs over a series will be exciting, especially since they’re so diverse.
I’ll keep you updated on these projects and what else I’m planning over the next few months. It’s bound to be very busy. Stay tuned!
