It’s less than a week now until An Undercover Dream is OFFICIALLY RELEASED ON 26/08/19 so I’m taking a chance to reflect in this week’s blog. This book certainly hasn’t been plain sailing, but it’s definitely one of the best books I’ve ever written.

Back when I announced my plans to publish An Undercover Dream, the book was in no state to be published. You may remember I was given feedback from my editor about one point that didn’t work and that changed the whole book. Back then, I had no idea whether this new plot would work out. I knew I had to make it work even if it didn’t, but in fact, once the full book was rewritten, I realised it was exactly what it was meant to be.

The layers and subplots that all came through on this new version worked unbelievably well, and it shocked me that I didn’t think of it in that way before. I always knew there was something not quite right about the book but this new version comes with zero doubts. This book which went through rounds and rounds of edits was finally in the place where everything made perfect sense.

I’m so glad it did, not just because I’m due to publish it, but because that book carries some of the most important messages of the whole series. In fact, one of the most pivotal set of scenes comes right at the end of the book, and it changes everything about Luke and about how we should view our own challenges. View who we are. Luke’s transformation is amazing, but the lessons that come out of An Undercover Dream are so key and so inspiring, that I truly believe lives can be changed by it. And that’s a pretty powerful way to view your book.

I really hope you enjoy reading it – it’s been one of my favourites to write and it’s always been a book close to my heart. The emotions in this book are so raw and if you know me, you’ll know me even better after reading it. If I had to describe the book in one sentence, it’s a breath of fresh air that then gets sucked right out of you.

I am extremely excited for release day and I can’t wait for you all to see what this book is about. There’s some almighty twists coming up and some fantastic people to meet. And when I read it, think of me, and how I grafted to bring it all together for over ten years.

If I’m honest, I’d say An Undercover Dream is the most pivotal book in the series because it’s where so much changes. It’s a work of art that took so long to perfect, but now I’m ready to give it to you all, so you can finally find out what all the fuss is about.
