Happy May day! We’re nearly half way through the year and almost at summer, I can’t wait! So, as usual on the first day of each month, I’m discussing how my writing life is going so far and what I hope will happen in the month ahead.

Firstly, I’d like to share some statistics for April. I won’t share my book sales numbers, but let’s just say, it’s been a success so far, and I’m extremely thankful to everyone who has helped me get this far and bought a copy.

April was a quieter month, where I left the proofreading up to my beta readers and instead spent more time reading over book 4 and planning my launch. It was nice to just have a bit of time where I didn’t have to focus so much on the publishing side, but I could just relax and take a bit of time to read and edit instead. Sometimes, it’s nice to have that little break but the busier months are where I really thrive.

So, what am I hoping for May? As the beta readers progress through the books, I’m going to start promoting more on social media. I’ll be posting quotes from An Undercover Dream and that’ll then lead onto posting up the first chapter, which I’m hoping will be up towards the end of June. I think it’s going to be another quiet month, but as we’ve got a couple of bank holidays coming up, I’m sure there’ll be a lot more writing and reading going on. Make sure to keep an eye on my social media to get your first few glimpses into what happens in the book as well as some pictures of the setting! Launch day will be in just a few months time and I bet it’ll come round quick!

Finally, with each 1st of the month blog, I’m going to share a photo of a setting in one of my books and explain a little about it, without too many spoilers!

Most of you will recognise this building – it’s the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. If you look very closely, maybe you’ll notice this place isn’t just tribute to one revolutionary figure. He and MLK junior both play a big part in my series and especially in An Undercover Dream. How? You’ll find out soon enough!
