1st of the month – April 2019

Happy April Fool’s day! Spring is finally here! It’s a very welcome break from the cold winter we’ve had! So, as usual on the first day of each month, I’m discussing how my writing life is going so far and what I hope will happen in the month ahead.

Firstly, I’d like to share some statistics for March. I won’t share my book sales numbers, but let’s just say, it’s been a success so far, and I’m extremely thankful to everyone who has helped me get this far and bought a copy.

So, looking back on February and March, those were two quite busy months in terms of The Luke Bright Series. Not only did Luke embark upon a huge new adventure in his alternate reality as At Liberty To Live transitions into An Undercover Dream, but a lot of writing went on too.

My editor returned An Undercover Dream to me, and pointed out one big plot point that they didn’t feel worked. I was shocked I hadn’t realised this up until now and I knew I had to do something about it before the big reveal on March 1st. So, I wracked my brains and I changed the setting and plot almost entirely, which meant basically re-writing about 75% of the book within a couple of weeks. It was so intense and I was begging that the whole thing would still work. In fact, it made it a whole lot better and it took the whole book up a scale with brand new themes and meanings and situations that I for one had never expected to turn out so well. So, I have to thank her because without that insight, this book wouldn’t have become what it is today.

Once that was done, I started getting ready for proofreading and preparing for the launch. I was very happy to reveal this new, fresh book title and cover to the world and within a few more weeks, I’d shipped off for the paperback proofs which you can see on my social media. It looks amazing and in fact, it reads amazingly too. The new story is phenomenal and it really gets exactly what I wanted to get across.

So, what am I hoping for April? I’m going to be giving the books to my beta readers and proofreaders to start working through, but other than that, I expect it to be a quiet month with more promotion. This will easily be the calm before the busy late spring and summer where I’m hoping to publish. But, I’ll keep you all up to date with blogs and my progress so you will be aware of what’s going on.

Finally, with each 1st of the month blog, I’m going to share a photo of a setting in one of my books and explain a little about it, without too many spoilers! And this time, I’m going to give you your FIRST LOOK into the world of An Undercover Dream and with this, I’m introducing to you a brand new character!

This handsome guy’s name is Harvey. He’s an adolescent german shepherd dog and he plays a big part in An Undercover Dream – the very first non-human character in The Luke Bright Series. He’s into music, new people and loves exploring new places. As for how Luke meets him? Well, you’ll find out soon enough!

Atlantic Split and At Liberty To Live, the first and second books in The Luke Bright Series are available to purchase NOW! An Undercover Dream – the third book in the series will be released in SUMMER 2019!

Please follow me on my blog and social media links below, and use the links on my website to purchase a copy of each if you have not done so. Don’t forget to leave a review! Thank you once again for taking the time to read this blog post.
