July 2018 – 1st of the Month

Happy 1st of July! As promised, on the 1st of every month, I will do a special blog about how my writing life is going so far and what I hope will happen in the month ahead. As I launched my plans to self-publish At Liberty To Live on the 1st of June, there’s a lot to catch up on now that it’s a whole month later.

Firstly, I’d like to share some statistics for June. I won’t share my book sales numbers, but let’s just say, it’s been a success so far, and I’m extremely thankful to everyone who has helped me get this far and bought a copy.

As I said before, June was the month I launched my plans to publish At Liberty To Live in Autumn 2018 which meant it’s been a very busy month, getting everything sorted! I received the first proof copies of the book (if you haven’t seen the official cover, check out my social media pages from the links below!) which look and feel amazing. These books are certainly getting much heavier! So now it’s been officially edited and currently being read by the proofreaders. It’s an exciting time and going through the whole process again feels incredible. I can’t believe I’ll be publishing two books in one year!

So, what am I hoping for July? Soon, I’ll be sharing quotes from At Liberty To Live on my social media pages and I’ll also be heading back to my old school to give a talk to the current students about self-publishing and being a young writer. I hope there I’ll be able to inspire some young minds and reach more of my target young adult audience and get them reading The Luke Bright Series. Other than that, I’ll be re-reading At Liberty To Live and getting the next set of proofs ready as I get closer to publication. I think this month is going to be a very hectic one!

Finally, with each 1st of the month blog, I’m going to share a photo of a setting in one of my books and explain a little about it, without spoilers of course. As At Liberty To Live is on the horizon, I’m giving a sneak preview into a setting of this book, even before you get to read it!

This is the North Kent Police Station from the very first chapter of At Liberty To Live. It’s a stunning, modern building but it kicks of the start of a huge action scene involving our trio. Whilst it looks quite different to what Kensington Station looks like, Luke is sure to see a familiar face turn up, and with a chapter that brings a whole heap of emotions, this police station is the perfect setting to start of the second book in the series.

Atlantic Split is the first book in The Luke Bright Series and is available to purchase NOW! Please follow me on my blog and my social media links below and use the links on my website to purchase a copy if you have not done so. Don’t forget to leave a review! The second book, At Liberty To Live will be released in AUTUMN 2018. Thank you once again for taking the time to read this blog post.

N.A.K.
